Our Story
From our beginning as a committee within the American Institute of Mining Engineers (AIME) in the early 1900s, SPE has grown into an independent, nonprofit global society with more than 153,000 members in 143 countries. Learn more about our history

Board of Directors

Who We Are
SPE is more than 153,000 members in 143 countries participating in 203 sections and 411 student chapters. SPE’s membership includes petroleum engineers, scientists, researchers, safety managers and related professionals, and more than 69,000 student members. SPE maintains offices in Dallas, London, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Calgary, Moscow and Houston.
